01 Porcelain Large-format, low-porosity and dimensionally consistent, so the joints stay tight and the surface stays clean without sealing.
02 Natural stone Sandstone, limestone and slate, hand-selected for tone and thickness rather than taken from whichever pack turns up.
03 Layout & design Set out to the house and the garden, not to the pack size — so cuts fall where they are least visible and the coursing lines up.
04 Feature paving Inlays, banding and mixed formats used deliberately, to break up a large area or mark a threshold rather than for decoration alone.
05 Edging & borders The detail that separates a laid patio from a finished one. Clean edges, proper restraint, no exposed cut lines.
06 Steps & levels Consistent risers and generous treads, worked out so the change in level feels part of the design rather than an obstacle.
07 Drainage Falls set out before laying and channels built in where they are needed, which is the difference between a patio and a puddle.
08 Lighting integration Cable routes and fittings planned while the ground is open, so the terrace works after dark without a chase cut through it later.
09 Sub-base preparation Excavated, compacted and built to depth. It is the part nobody sees and the only reason a patio stays flat for twenty years.
10 Removal & disposal The old surface taken up, broken out and carted away, with the site left clean rather than a heap left for you to deal with.
